Journey to Surrender

By April 7, 2025Perspectives

This morning, I wrote (well… we know who does the writing! 😄)   this for people in recovery and anybody that might be interested … so it’s for a broader audience.

This may take a lifetime, yet it’s a journey that is loyal and faithful to the longing and yearning of your soul.

It is our soul’s desire.

The unease that we feel inside is our souls longing to break free from the constrictions of the mind and the senses—to remember the Home from which we came.
Our Source.
It is a moment of Grace when we hear the Call to return Home, echoing within the innermost part of our being.

A safe and sure path out of the darkness has been laid before us.
Begin by seeking to grow your own understanding of a Loving God. It’s the only one that will work for you. This requires only a spark—a tiny ember—to fan into flame. It can begin in a simple moment: sitting on the beach, gazing across the ocean toward the horizon and beyond, feeling the sun’s warmth on your skin, breathing in the clean, salty air, hearing the steady rhythm of the waves, like breath, crashing in and pulling out on the shore. Or perhaps, sitting quietly in the stillness of a vast forest, hearing the wind rustling through the leaves, birdsong in the air, and—for a few sweet moments—feeling a Presence in that stillness and in everything that surrounds you.

These are holy moments.

Fan that spark. Follow that connection.

We need a Guide—One who knows the way Home.
We can’t walk this path alone, so we make a Loving God our Companion, our Friend, and we walk together.

And what is this walk?

It is the art of Surrender—bit by bit—of every aspect of our lives, our will and being, into the care of this Loving Presence.
And as often as we can throughout the day, we turn to the tools of prayer and meditation, to deepen and strengthen our conscious connection with the Divine.

We surrender more and more, seeking only to know Love’s will for us and the power to carry it out.
That Power has never left us—it is what brought us this far.

Let us place our trust, our lives, and everything and everyone we meet today into this sacred care.

Love you…we can do this! 🥰
